My name is Ashley Levingston, happy supporter and proud sister of www.through2eyes.com founder, Sampson Levingston. As my first year at college comes to an end, I have made several realizations about life and people. One of which is that people fear REJECTION more than anything else in this world.
This fear has caused humans to create false identities of themselves in hopes of being accepted! Many people do not believe their true self is good enough to share with their “friends”. My eyes have become open to this very real problem because I differ greatly from my peers.
I LOVE MYSELF.
Many many people have attacked me for this confidence, they perceive it as being conceited. Call it whatever you want, but for some reason, I think that I am one of the world’s most amazing people and I wish that all people could think like this! My mindset has caused me to present the most authentic version of myself. After all the REAL version of you, is the BEST version of you.
"My sister, Ashley, is so unapologetically herself that I don't even know how she does it. It's kinda cool how I look UP to my little sister" - Sampson Levingston, A New Light
Put aside society's “views” or “expectations” of you. Just because the world thinks you’re a bully/jock/rude/self centered/ect., stop feeling like you HAVE to be that. Because of the ways I look at life and view myself, I have been able to see all the false identities that surround me.
I’ve learned it takes a whole lot of courage to be yourself. If you’ve ever been fortunate to get to know the “REAL VERSION” of someone, you know how much better that version is compared to the identity they show to the rest of the world. If we cannot begin to form genuine relationships with the people around us, we will cease to exist.
“God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.”
BE GREAT AT IT.
AND ALWAYS KEEP TWO EYES OPEN.
